Pingback: Hundreds of Arizona Residents Turn Out Against Rosemont Mine - ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION – ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
I AM TOTALLY AGAINST THE ROSEMONT MINE PROJECT DUE TO THE MANY ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION PROBLEMS , WATER ISSUES FOR OUR AREA, SCENIC DESTRUCTION PLUS WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER COPPER MINE IN THE GREEN VALLEY AREA.
PLEASE SEE THAT THIS IS NOT APPROVED. THE LAND ROSEMONT WANTS TO USE IS OUR , USA RESIDENTS FOREST LAND AND OUR TAX DOLLAR SAYS NO…
I do NOT want the Rosemont Copper Mine here in Green Valley to be mined in the Santa Rita Mountains! The air and water pollution would not only be disasterous to everyone’s health who lives in this area, but would definitely have an economic impact in the loss of value to our homes!
Very well said!!! These people are speaking the truth regarding that stupid proposed mine!!! This is because I am concerned about the environment and how this project will affect the people of Tucson in an adverse manner. The 4 biggest concerns are that it will threaten the biodiversity of the Coronado National Forest, severely affect our watter resources, significantly reduce the quality of our air, and create a big hole in the ground. The recent draft of the Environmental Impact Statement from the U.S. Forest Service is very vague on those 4 issues – an MUCH more! This Rosemont Mine will harm Arizona!
I am all for Rosemont Copper Mine. There is way too much doom and gloom comments about it’s impact. I live close to Silverbell Copper Mine and see no negative affects. I appreciate the jobs (which we need more of), there is a great need for copper (construction, solar panels, wind turbines, green electricity, electronics), and it is not the eye sore that others propose. They have had environmental impact studies done and it would not have gotten approved if there were to be a huge negative impact. It is not going to lower your property value. If it does, then you will benefit by paying less property taxes.
Stop whining people. Let’s create more jobs, stimulate the economy, and be the supplier of a much needed metal that cannot just be mined anywhere.
